Travel Tips & Resources
Book Early!
Early booking can often secure better rates and preferred cabin locations. It also gives you time to plan your excursions.
Choose the Right Cabin
Consider your preferences for location (midship for stability), size, and view. Interior cabins are budget-friendly, while balconies offer scenic views.
Plan Excursions Ahead
Research and book shore excursions in advance, especially for popular destinations as they can fill up quickly.
Purchase Beverage & Wifi Ahead
If you plan on utilizing the ship’s onboard Wi-Fi, you’ll save by booking it before you get on the ship. Plans are available for your entire cruise or day by day. Drink packages are also cheaper to buy before your cruise!
Pack Smart
Don’t overdo it! You’re on vacation. While laundry machines are available, no one wants to do that while on vacation. Include layering options for varying temperatures, swimwear, and comfortable shoes. Don’t forget formal wear for dress-up nights and photo ops.
Download the Carnival HUB app
Carnival’s Hub app will be your companion throughout your cruise. You can use it to view your daily itinerary, order room service, keep track of your expenses, communicate to your family and friends through messaging, and even check in to dining. Be sure to download this app before you leave cell or Wi-Fi coverage.
Tipping
Gratuities are added to your bill automatically a couple of days prior to debarking the ship. These are added for convenience and shared by all staff members on the ship. Automatic gratiuties can be removed by Guest Services if you wish to tip on your own.
Bringing Money & Making Purchases
You’ll want to bring several small bills for tipping along with cash for purchases made outside the ports of call (e.g. souvenirs). Credit cards may also be used at many ports of call, especially within the immediate vicinity of the ship and major retailers. All purchases made while onboard the ship are charged to your Sail and Sign account digitally and must be settled before you disembark the ship.
Bring a Small Bag for Shore Days
Pack essentials like sunscreen, medication, water bottles, and personal items for day trips in a small backpack or beach bag.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water, especially if you’re participating in excursions or spending time in the sun. We each take a reusable bottle or tumbler and fill it up before we leave the ship!
Take Advantage of Activities
Participate in onboard activities and events to make the most of your cruise experience and meet other travelers.
Relax and Enjoy
Embrace the experience and enjoy downtime. Cruises offer a variety of activities, but it’s also important to relax and enjoy the scenery.
